General Jerry Singirok MBE DSM VOM GSCM, a Former Chief of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force, will be the keynote speaker for our 80^th WWII Anniversary Dinner on Thursday 3 November 2022. This date is significant for both our Nations as it is the day that the Australian Flag was re-raised at Kokoda Village on 3 Nov ’42, marking the end of the WWII Kokoda Campaign.

Jerry will reflect on our country’s relationship forged in those dark days, his career journey and viewpoint on today’s regional challenges. This will be the third and final marquee “National Press Club” style of events for DIG in 2022, targeting our Membership and their geo-strategic interests in the region. Jerry’s address will give us a unique “ground zero view” of our nearest and closest neighbour, with the significant stakes we share in the South Pacific Region at this time.
